Week 7!
This week there are 2 blocks to stitch. They are both fun and colourful and use simple stitches so, although they may take a bit of time to complete, they aren’t difficult – relax and stitch at the same time!
Let start with the…
Jolly Robins
You will need the following colours…
#840, #433, #347, #996, #820, #3866
Use 2 strands throughout unless stated otherwise.

Each Bird is stitched in the same way – the only difference being the colours are swapped over in a couple of the hats, see photo…

How to stitch…
Follow the colour and stitch guide shown to complete all the parts of the Robin apart from the hat.
I would suggest starting with the split stitch body and then move on to the red breast and wing.
#310: French Knot for the eye, and straight stitch for the beak and legs.

The hats are all stitched in the same way- you can follow the colours as I did or play around with them and make up your own combinations!
- #996: Satin Stitch Top area
- #820: Back Stitch hat band
- #3866: French Knots for bobble

Repeat all of the above for each of the 4 birds. Finish the block by back stitching the outer edge in #3866…

Stitching the Scarf
You will need the following colours…
#3042, #834, #550, #3752

Use 2 strands throughout unless stated otherwise.
This scarf is nice and simple to stitch – I used chain stitch to give it a woolly textured effect but if you don’t like this you can swap for a different stitch of your choice.
I’ve numbered the sections so you can find it easier to stitch…

#3042: Chain Stitch horizontal rows across sections 1, 3, 4, 6 and 8…

#834: Chain Stitch horizontal rows across sections 2, 5 and 8…

To finish, #550: Back stitch around the outside and inside edges of each colour block, and then stitch long stitch for the scarf fringes. Add some French Knots in sections 2 and 5.
All thats left to do now is the outer block edge… #3752: Back Stitch.
Well done – Week 7 is complete
