Week 9…

Block 9 – Tulip Pots
DMC Thread (use 2 strands throughout).
223 Dusky Pink, #3803 Berry, #937 Grass Green, #154 Damson
Color and Stitch Guide

Stitching the Pots…

Satin Stitch the Pots – this is done in the same way as you did the leaves in Week 2 (see the tutorial here).
Stitch vertically from the centre outwards to fill one side and then from the centre outwards to fill the opposite side.
Stitching the Stems and Leaves…

Backstitch the stems and Fly Stitch the leaves – the fly stitch is done with small stitches from the tip to the base of each leaf. Here’s a simple break down of the stitch in case you are unsure…

Stitching the Flower Heads…
The pink lower areas of each of the flowers needs to be stitched first with satin stitch…

Lastly, stitch small vertical straight stitches for the flowers tops – it doesn’t matter if they are not completely straight at the top edge. Once these are stitched the flowers really start to look gorgeous.

And that’s Block 9 all done – 3 cute little tulip pots added to your sampler…

Can you believe there are only 3 more blocks to go…
Block 10 will be on Thursday 7th May – see you then.
Happy Stitching!
