Week 5…

- #937 Grass Green
- #309 Strawberry
Block 5 – Simple Flowers
DMC Thread (use 2 strands throughout).
Color and Stitch Guide

The last 4 blocks of this sampler have been challenging, especially for those of you still new to hand embroidery. You will be glad of the break this week, as the flowers in this block are incredibly simple.
3 Simple stitches create this lovely little border of flowers.
Stitching the Grass and Stems

The stitch used to create the grass is fly stitch – even though it looks like they are joined up – they aren’t. All you need to do is stitch individual fly stitch next to one another in the formation on the template.

For the stems, stitch a small vertical line of stem stitch.

Stitching the Flowers

3 detached chain stitch make up each of the flowers. Come out at the same point – at the top of the stem – for each of the chain stitches.

And that really is all there is to this block – nice and simple but still very pretty.

Head over to the Facebook group and show everyone your progress.
On Instagram use #stitchdoodlespringsal2020 to post your picture.
Block 6 will be on Thursday 9th April – see you then.
Happy Stitching!
