Week 2
Block 2 – Woven Wheel Flowers
DMC Thread (use 2 strands throughout), you will need:
- #3834 Plum
- #371 Moss Green
- #758 Antique Pink
Flower Heads…
The flower heads are all stitched with Woven Wheels. This is a really simple stitch – once you have the 5 spokes coming out from the center of the circle – the rest is done on the surface. Here’s how to stitch a woven wheel…
Leaves…
For Satin stitch I like to do a backstitch outline of the shape before filling in with the Satin Stitch. For these little leaves, I did a slanted satin stitch – starting in the center (on the outer edge of the backstitch) and filling in diagonally across (taking the needle back in on the outer edge of the backstitch).
The Stems are completed with Split Stitch
Daisies
These little daisies are so satisfying – incredibly simple but transform a boring cross into a pretty little flower in no time.
Your Beautiful little flowers are now complete and the 2nd block is done.
