How to make Hand embroidered Necklaces
Embroidered Jewellery is beautiful – I’m sure you’ll agree!!
The combination of a beautiful pendant or mini hoop with a gorgeous miniature embroidered design never fails to delight both the maker and the receiver. When I came across these gorgeous pendants from Nunn Design I was smitten and could not wait to get my hands on one (or 3!) and make something beautiful!
I could not source any directly here in the UK but did not let this put me off! Getting them from the US meant my patience was put to the test – but imagine the squeal of delight when they finally arrived…

These wonderful Jewelry Kits for Embroidery just oooze quality and there are a choice of finishes such as copper or antique silver as well as various shapes and sizes.
In each kit you get a beautiful pendant with a matching chain and an engraved tag to mount your embroidery around. They really are a beautiful piece of jewellery even before the embroidery touches them!
Easily create a gorgeous embroidered Necklace…
It really is simple… All you need to do is stitch your sweet little miniature design, wrap it around the included ‘crest tag’ and then glue this in to the pendant frame – how wonderful is that?!
The whole process puts a smile on your face and you are in awe of what you have created when finished!
Where to Buy so you can enjoy the fun as well…
For you lucky people living in the US, then these kits are widely available – take a look on Etsy and you will find a them there.
Here in the UK, since I could not find them anywhere, I decided to stock a few in my Etsy shop so you can find them here… Nunn Design Embroidery Necklace Pendants.
Do you need some Mini embroidery design ideas to fill them with?
I created 11 designs that can be used in these particular pendants just because I was having so much fun seeing what different designs looked like when in the frames!
If you like the designs shown here, I made them in to a pattern just for you which you can purchase as a PDF download here.
Alternatively there are some great books just for mini designs. Mini Hoop Embroideries by Sonia Lyne ( founder of the fabulous Dandelyne Hoops ) is a fabulous book with over 60 designs!
The wonderful part of making embroidered necklaces is they are quick but look amazing when complete.
