About the Card Deck Stitch Sampler
Here at Stitchdoodles, we recently started stocking the ‘RSN Embroidery stitches Card Deck‘ The first thing that came to mind when I was taking a look through the cards, was how much fun it would be to get all 50 stitches, stitched into one sampler! No idea why – it just seemed like such a fun idea!
Fast forward a few weeks and voila – the sampler is here! I loved the challenge of getting all the stitches to fit inside a modern circular sampler and couldn’t wait to stitch it and see how it worked out. The result is fantastic – the cards are a great resource to have to hand and if you get stuck – a quick look at the RSN Stitch Bank Online and you can find a more detailed breakdown of the stitch you are doing with several formats to help you get it right.

All 50 stitches are in the sampler.
I can’t quite believe it myself, however there are indeed 50 different stitches in this sampler, each one featured in the card deck from the RSN. Some incredibly simple and others just that bit trickier (!) The whole design is approx. 8 inches round.

Hand Embroidery stitches are so beautiful in their own right and samplers are the perfect way to not only show these off but also practice some new stitches you may not have tried before. If you have been with Stitchdoodles for a while you will know we love playing around with lots of stitches!
These cards were just perfect to have to hand whilst stitching away.

The Template of the design
This can be purchased from the shop.
The design Pre Printed on to Fabric (optional)
If you are not keen on the transfer side of things then as always, you can purchase the design pre printed on to a beautiful cotton fabric panel.
Hand Embroidery Thread
As this is a sampler pretty much any thread will do. Its also the opportunity to experiment, so if you have any quirky threads you haven’t quite found a use for yet then this might be their time to shine!
The pictured sampler was stitched with Aurifil Cotton Thread in Variegated colour 3817.
This beautiful stranded thread had enough colour variation to make the whole sampler look amazing. Plus, by using 2 strands 1 spool was all I needed for the whole design.

That’s pretty much it – just grab some scissors and a needle and you are ready to get stitching.
