The 2 resources we are using for this sampler are, RSN Embroidery Stitches Card Deck and the RSN Online Stitchbank.

Stitch Guide

Locate the number on the diagram that corresponds to the number of the stitch which is given as we go along.

Day 10: Fly Stitch, Dot stitch, Seed Stitch

Stitch Guide No. 16 = Fly Stitch

Stitched with Madeira Silk (2 strands), this simple stitch is shown in a vertical line as well as 3 random ones (bottom right of design).

Stitch Guide No.17 = Dot Stitch

This is an interesting stitch as I hadn’t really come across it before. If you used a thin thread then I think you would need a lot more than 2 lines next to each other to create a dot effect. Stitched with DMC Eco Vita wool thread which is relatively chunky – I am not convinced they look very dot like either!

I love using seed stitch for lots of different effects. It is such a simple stitch but with so many variations to play around with can be used in lots of different situations.
