All about the RSN Card Deck Stitch Sampler

Get ready to stitch

I really loved the effect the Aurifil variegated Thread gave in the first sampler I stitched, however decided to try something different for the second one. I decided to try some threads with different textures and sizes so went with this Thread Variety Pack. This has lots of variety and I love the colours so can’t wait to see how these look when all combined.

So, if you are joining in with the sampler, here’s what you need to get yourself all ready for the stitching…

Design printed on the fabric, threads, hoop, needle and scissors. Ready to stitch away.

The Stitches

All through July we will work our way through the 50 stitches – easy ones, hard ones and everything in between! This information will remain on the blog so you can take as long as you like.

The 2 resources we are using for this sampler are, RSN Embroidery Stitches Card Deck and the RSN Online Stitchbank.

The Guide

To make it nice and easy to navigate which stitches go where on the sampler I have created a simple numbered diagram. This is available alongside the Template as well as the Printed Fabric so you can print it out and have it to hand as you go through the stitches in the card deck or using the online stitch Bank.

Locate the number on the diagram that corresponds to the number of the stitch which is given as we go along.

How to do the Stitches

If you are using the RSN Card deck to complete this sampler – for each stitch locate the card in your deck and follow the stitch directions given on the reverse.

Not Using the Card Deck? A link is given to each stitch on the RSN stitchbank ‘stitch wall’. There you will find full directions for completing the stitch in several formats.
