Welcome to the ‘Bees and Blossoms’ Stitch A Long
This Stitch A Long is taking place for 10 weeks on the Stitchdoodles blog – Starting Wednesday 18th May 2022 and finishing on Wednesday 20th July 2022.
Each Wednesday during the SAL – a new tutorial will be published on the blog with all the information you need to complete a part of the Bees and Blossom Pattern.
If you are not familiar with a Stitchdoodles SAL and this is all new to you and you would like to join in, please go to this page to get all the information.
Do you need help with any of the stitches?
A Stitch A Long doesn’t provide you with the step by step instructions for the stitches themselves – it is a tutorial on how to stitch the pattern design – colours, techniques and stitches used etc. I will link to a ‘How to’ for certain stitches where I can, if you need further guidance, please take a look here …How to Teach Yourself Hand Embroidery Stitches
Welcome to Week 4
This Week we will be stitching…
The Honey Pot Corner
You will need the following colours…
#729, #3853, #433, #471, #472, #3350, #223, #3712, #23
Use 2 strands throughout unless stated otherwise.

Start by stitching the Honey Pot and then fill in the rest of the surrounding elements.
The Honey Pot…
Stitch the Vertical Brick stitch first and then finish with the split stitch around its edge. (Do the whole thing in split stitch if Brick stitch is not one you like to use).
There is a tutorial for Brick Stitch here.
Next, add the chain stitch and orange top before finishing with the brown edging on the the top of the jar.

Complete the Honey Pot area by Satin stitching the 2 honey drops in #3853: Satin stitch and outline the hexagon in #3853: Back Stitch.

The Flowers…
- #471: Stem Stitch the stem
- #471: Back stitch the outer edge of the leaves and fill with satin stitch.
- #3350: French Knots for flower intermingled with #3712: French Knots – cluster a few of each colour as you go to fill the whole area.

For the remaining flower arrangement, stitch as follows…

Start by stitching the 2 stems that extend out from under the main flower.

Then stitch the main Flower in the following order…
- #223: Back stitch the petal edges.
- #23: Split stitch inside the petals keeping the edge stitches visible.
- #3712: with 1 strand stitch tiny straight stitches extending 1/4inch into the petal from the centre.
- #3350: Satin stitch the centre circle.

And thats all there is to it! Your beautiful Honey Pot corner is complete…

Share your completed blocks in the Happy Stitching FB Group or on Instagram with #stitchdoodlesembroidery.
Week 5 is on the blog Wednesday 15th June… See you then!
Happy Stitching!

I just finished the 10 week Bees and Blossoms. I would like to frame it in a hoop to hang on wall but having difficulty finding a frame/hoop. Any suggestion of where I can find the right size.
