Autumn splendour stitch a long

Autumn Splendour

Welcome to the Stitchdoodles Autumn SAL for 2020…

Starting 9th September 2020

About the design…

The design has been created to capture a real sense of Autumn both with the design elements as well as the colours used. This is a modern hand embroidery pattern which contains a variety of well known stitches.

Here’s the Fabulous design we will be stitching…

Autumn splendour hand embroidery pattern

The finished design measures approx. 7.5inches square.

It is composed of several blocks which I will be showing you how to stitch here on the Stitchdoodles Blog for 12 weeks. (You don’t need to complete the design in the 12 weeks – you can take it at your own pace, in your own time as the tutorials will remain on the blog indefinitely.)

Starting September…

The first block tutorial will be posted on Wednesday 9th September, a tutorial for each block will then be posted every Wednesday up until Wednesday 25th November.

How to access the Template…

The template pattern for the design is available from the Stitchdoodles shop. You can purchase the template and transfer it to your fabric yourself or purchase the pre printed fabric or kit and get stitching straight away.

Grab the Supplies List…

Make sure you have everything you need to get stitching. You can download the supplies list here.

Content of the Stitch A Long Tutorials…

Each Wednesday from 9th September I will be posting a tutorial with the colour and stitch guide to complete the block for that week.

I will guide you through the sequence of stitching with the colours used.

This Stitch a Long is not intended as a stitch sampler and therefore the stitches required to complete all the elements are not given in detail. There are lots of stitch tutorials on the blog and I will link to those for particular stitches where necessary.

If you are a beginner and unsure if you will be able to complete the pattern – the stitches are all simple and I will guide you as best I can should you require it. Please see the Beginner Guide in my resources library as well as the Stitch Guide page on this blog.
